Another year, another Danskin sprint to look forward to and enjoy... this weekend, I enjoyed the company of several dozen LA Tri Clubbers at this women's only sprint race at Bonelli Park in San Dimas, CA.
The weather totally cooperated... was nice & cool in the morning, the water was nice and warm... here are Carly and I testing it before the race starts (getting there early always has its advantages)... *NOTE* Carly came in #1 in her age group... (25-29). I'm not sure of the other results, although I know we had some fast-feet out there Sunday!

Summer and Brian -- pre-race. This was Summer's first race on her new bike, a Trek named Rose. Brian commented that transition at this race was more colorful than typically, with lots of pink, baby blue, yellow, red & purple bikes. It was also Summer's first race as a newly engaged women! Congratulations Brian and Summer!
Summer opted for the security and flotation of her wetsuit in the race. I'd say, the field was evenly split on wearing a wetsuit or not. Myself, I crave the opportunity to be in any race without one -- just a nice change of pace when you're goal isn't so much to PR. The water felt really GREAT when I was out there. Lots of swimmers going every-which direction in this race, since it attracts so many newbies, but it's all good fun. I enjoyed seeing so many first-timers throughout the day, and giving them a shout of encouragement (when I had the lungs to do so!).

Thanks Brian and everyone who took photos. Thanks to everyone who came out and cheered and RACED! Ray and Brian were our race day captains at this event... glad to have our Tent there.... inviting lots of lovely ladies to come on over and learn about LATC. Go ahead and mark the first weekend in JUNE next year, to come out and participate with us. I'm already looking forward to it.
