Head to work a little late on Tues., Feb-5th --
It's my 1-Year Anniversary Spin @ YAS!
On Tuesday, Feb-5, 2008 at 6:15 AM I will be celebrating my one year anniversary teaching spin at YAS. I hope you will join me to celebrate! I plan to pack the class and play my favorite spin tunes. This is a sponsored spin with Function Drinks, Clif Bar, LA Tri Club and YAS contributing goodies for raffles / swag. You won't leave empty handed!

Space is limited, so you've gotta call the studio to reserve your bike: 310.396.6993. Please keep your RSVP up to date. I'd hate for someone to show up so early at the studio, and not have a bike!

Classes are $15-per, or you can buy a series for a lower per-class rate. Sorry, No Coupons or Comps for the Anniversary Spin.

What to bring? A small towel, water and your rested-body so you can put in your best effort. If you've got cycling shoes, the clip in's are LOOK & SPD. Otherwise, there are baskets for running shoes.

TIME? This class is off-and-running by 6:15 AM, so you'll want to get to the studio early, by 5:50-6:00 AM on Feb-5th to claim your bike.

New to YAS? Well, the 7:00 AM Yoga for Athletes, 1/2 class with Maribeth is FREE for newbies on this special day. Take advantage! Spin & then head into the yoga room for a little stretch. **There is a shower at the studio**

I'll be sharing the sponsors goodies all during my anniversary month of Feb--until supplies run out... so, if you've been wanting to check out the 6:15 AM offering, then make Feb-your month.

Kouy & Ken's New Years Eve Wedding
123107-010108. Kouy Kolar and Ken Novice tied the knot on New Years Eve at Casa del Mar hotel in Santa Monica. It was a platinum, 5-star afair all around... black-tie, lobster & steak 4-course meal, guitar hero set-up in the lobby, awesome entertainment, and, of course, touching vows in a remarkable setting in-the-round, where they were surrounded by friends and family.
Here is our cab-crew, who met at Brian and Summer's new pad, before we headed over to the festivities - pictured, Brian, Summer, Jeff, me & Jamie:
When we arrived at Casa del Mar, our crew grew with holiday greetings and sips of cocktails as we waited to be let into the ceremony area. The smell of the sea, a cool and crisp evening... news that Gladys and Jason (far left) got engaged over the holiday!! Dorcas and Marc in the middle:
Kouy & Ken, heading off the stage to the lobby area >> Kouy looked absolutely amazing. The whole wedding was really off-the-hook!
Prom Photo! Pose here please! Jamie & I, with Suzy & Jeff:
We were lucky to be seated right by the band and at the end of the dance-floor. Perfect positioning for the motley crew. Check out the white arrangement that towered over each table:
Cake anyone?
Jamie and the bride, beautiful Kouy (she changed from her wedding dress into this smashing number for the 2nd part of the evening):
Stroke of Midnight = HAPPY NEW YEAR! Balloons fell from the ceiling and showered us all. It was a tremendous countdown:
Kouy was finally in the mix on the dance-floor, with Ken in tow. Here they are mixing it up with us at the start of a very new year:
Apparently, I wore my New Years hat backwards the whole night. Ha. Here I am with Brian and Summer, snapping away the first photos of the new year.
Jamie and I crashed at Bri and Sum's that night, and the next day headed to an early breakfast. It was great - no traffic!! But, as soon as we pulled away from their condo, they realized they forgot the house keys... a new house/and neither of them had the keys to the locked door... No problem, we called a locksmith. Very funny. He had to DRILL the lock, and $200 later, they had a brand new condo with the 2nd brand new lock. Way to start the new year off, right?
Things got even sillier when, as I was talking to Summer by this railing, I got my knee stuck between the slats. I was trying to remove it without being noticed, but finally had to ask for help. Ridiculous, but funny.
So, with that --- HAPPY NEW YEAR to all. Let's make some magic in 2008!!
Christmas 2007
We went low-key this year, Jesse and I decided to stay local. He came over with his girlfriend, Sarah, and made us dinner. Here we were with Spank the dog that I'm dogsitting. Spank is the sweetest 5-year old, 4-lb mutt, I just love her so much, I'm not sure I can give her back to Maribeth!!
Here is Jess with his marvelous Christmas dinner:
And, Sarah and Jess, pose for the camera:
Spank gets a place in Christmas '07 history here >> so well behaved, an angel! ; )
Merry Christmas to all!
Suzy & Jeff's Wedding
121507. Suzy O'Donnell and Jeff Zaeske tied the knot in El Segundo, CA in mid-Dec. It was a wonderful laid-back party with friends and family. Suzy looked sooooo beautiful! Here is a snap of her walking down the isle with her Pop:
After vows were said in the gardens, we retired to the dining and dance hall, where we were greeted by the newly-newly-weds!
For their first dance, these two put on quite the show! They performed a rehersed routine perfectly and wowed us all.
Here I am with Suzy and Jeff (it was cold out!) >>
Summer and Brian danced the night away in celebration >>
They weren't alone on the dance floor, as Stef and Konrad joined them >>
Marrielle and Luis, just having announced they were pregnant were out on the town -- they've got the glow!! Baby Canales is due in June.
Sylvia and Paul, cutting loose!
