Thailand :: Final thoughts

+ roads -- the roads in this country are nutty. A two lane road is more like four lanes with motor bikes in between. Motorbike carry locals with two adults and as many as three children on one machine!!! Mostly, no helmets.

+ latex -- they bleed trees here for plastic/latex. You can see the plastic product on drying racks all over the farming country.

+ bugs as snack? Yep, they enjoy a good spicy grub or grasshopper or worm here. They are sold in market carts all over. We are told the grubs are especially good with a beer (like our beer nuts or chips).

+ Cabbages and Condoms -- a restaurant in Bangkok (near the financial district) which was primarily build to help fund a project to bring sex education and birth control to the thailand people in outside villages. Today they cooperate with many groups doing all kinds of philanthropy including tsunami clean up (school rebuilding). World Vision is another group I think is wonderful who are doing good for Thai villagers.

+ jw marriott -- off the hook. Want to go swanky for a couple nights? Save up and head there. It was a paradise on earth.

+ what we missed -- the ladyboy cabaret shows and the sex district shows. There is so much more to see in and around Bangkok and of course in Thailand, but for the places we went, we really squeezed the most out of each location.

+ i had four, one hr massages while we were there -- make sure you carve out time for these, each costing us about $5 (200 baht). If we weren't on the go so much, I would have had one per day!
