4th of July ~ Napa & San Francisco
Jabus and I had an awesome time touring wine tastings and great restaurants for 4th weekend. After a few days of over-indulgence, we moved the party to San Francisco, before heading home.

MERETE AND FINN ~ Aug. 2008
I visited my Mom, Gram and Aunt in Connecticut this Aug. My brother and his crew drove up from D.C. for the party. Here are Merete and Finn, both mesmerized by a Gwen Stefani video on my computer... yeah, I got a few no-no looks from Stina and my Aunt Mary for showing it to them. Check out their faces!

Merete and I had GIRLS NITE at a hotel, and here she is showing off our "princess suite", as we called it. We ordered a movie and room service, which she thought was just the bomb!

Disneyland & the Danskin Triathlon
061408. Summer and I traveled east for the Danskin micro-sprint, being held for the first time at Disneyland. We swam in the Adventure Park Lagoon (I don't recommend you try this), and cycled around a loop before running into and around the park. Here we are with Createn before the swim:

I felt pretty good. No pressure for this small event, and it's fun to be around so many first-timers. I don't think I'd swim in that lagoon again though... so, next year I'll just have to be a spectator. ** I did have an AMAZING first ** I was the FIRST to rack my bike on my row!! It was just awesome. Hummmm, maybe I'll have to race again next year and try for two in a row...

The day before we went into the park and rode the rides and checked things out. I'd NEVER been to Disneyland before. It's just one of those things, where it's local for me, but I'm not from here, so I'd just never seen the place before. Summer went a lot as a kid, so as we enjoyed the park, she told me stories of her past visits with her family. Now, I can't wait for Merete to visit CA next so I can take her here! It's certainly a magical place for munchkins!
